Responsible Cannabis Use: Safety, Storage, and New Jersey Law

Responsible cannabis use in New Jersey comes down to a short list of rules: never drive after consuming, keep everything sealed and out of reach of children and pets, never share with anyone under 21, and never carry cannabis across a state line. One Green Leaf is a licensed adult-use dispensary at 95 N Lakeview Dr in Gibbsboro, open every day from 9 AM to 9 PM.

Never Drive After Consuming

Driving while impaired by cannabis is illegal in New Jersey and in every other state. Buying a product legally from a licensed dispensary changes nothing about that. Decide how you are getting home before you buy, not after.

There is no home test that tells you when you are no longer impaired, and no single waiting period that applies to every person and every product. If there is any doubt at all, do not get behind the wheel. Arrange a ride, hand the keys to a sober driver, or stay where you are.

Do not open or consume anything in a vehicle, including in the drive-thru lane. The drive-thru window is a pickup point for collecting an order, nothing more. The same 21+ ID check applies there as it does at the counter.

Store Products Sealed and Out of Reach

Keep cannabis in its original sealed packaging and store it up high or locked, out of sight and out of reach of children and pets. Do not move product into a plain jar, a plastic bag, or an unlabeled tin. The label is what tells anyone who finds it exactly what they are holding.

Edibles deserve extra care because they can look like ordinary food. Never store them in a snack cabinet, a candy dish, or the door of the refrigerator next to everyday groceries. Dogs in particular will eat anything left within reach, including packaging.

If a child or a pet gets into a cannabis product, act immediately. Call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 for a person, or call a veterinarian or an emergency animal hospital for an animal. Bring the packaging with you so they know what was consumed.

Never Share With Anyone Under 21

Adult-use cannabis in New Jersey is limited to people 21 and older with a valid government-issued photo ID. There is no exception for a family member, a housemate, or someone who is almost old enough. Giving, selling, or passing along cannabis to anyone under 21 is illegal, including inside your own home.

We check ID for all four ways to buy: in store, reserve-ahead pickup, the drive-thru window, and same-day delivery. For delivery, the person receiving the order has to be 21 or older with a valid government-issued photo ID. Do not order on behalf of someone who cannot buy for themselves.

The same thinking applies to your home. If you are hosting people, put products away and locked before anyone arrives rather than trusting that nobody will go looking.

Cannabis You Buy Here Stays in New Jersey

Do not carry cannabis across a state line. That includes driving it into Pennsylvania or Delaware, mailing it, and taking it through an airport, and it applies even when the destination state also sells cannabis legally. Cannabis remains illegal under federal law, and crossing a border is what turns a legal purchase into a federal problem.

Gibbsboro sits about 30 minutes from Philadelphia, which makes the state line an easy one to cross without thinking about it. Visitors from out of state are welcome to shop here, but plan on whatever you buy staying in New Jersey.

Worth knowing closer to home: New Jersey municipalities decide for themselves whether recreational sales are allowed, and some have opted out. Cherry Hill, for example, does not permit recreational sales, so do not plan a purchase there.

Where to Find Help and Official Information

New Jersey's cannabis rules are published by the Cannabis Regulatory Commission at nj.gov/cannabis, which is also where you can look up licensed retailers. One Green Leaf LLC holds CRC license RE000846, an Annual Class 5 Cannabis Retailer permit valid through May 14, 2027.

If you or someone you know wants help with substance use, the SAMHSA National Helpline is 1-800-662-4357. It is free, confidential, and available 24 hours a day. For a mental health crisis, call or text 988. For a medical emergency of any kind, call 911.

Our staff can walk you through categories, packaging, and labels, and can answer questions about how to buy and what to bring. They are not medical professionals and cannot give medical advice. For anything health related, including questions about medication or pregnancy, talk to a licensed healthcare provider.

Buying Responsibly at One Green Leaf

Bring a valid government-issued photo ID showing you are 21 or older. That check works the same way whether you shop in store, reserve ahead for pickup, use the drive-thru window, or order same-day delivery. We are at 95 N Lakeview Dr, Gibbsboro, NJ 08026, in Camden County, open every day from 9 AM to 9 PM.

Our Dutchie menu updates in real time, so it is the only accurate source for what is on the shelf, and we do not quote prices, potency, or stock ahead of time. Ask staff about packaging and labels while you are at the counter, read the label again before you open anything at home, and put the product back sealed and out of reach when you are done.

Safety and Compliance answers

How long should I wait to drive after using cannabis?
There is no timer that works for everyone and no home test that confirms you are no longer impaired. The safest answer is to not drive at all after consuming. Arrange a ride, use a designated driver, or plan to stay put. Impaired driving is illegal in New Jersey regardless of where the product was bought.
Can I take cannabis I bought in Gibbsboro into Pennsylvania or Delaware?
No. Do not carry cannabis across any state line, whether by car, by mail, or through an airport. Cannabis is still illegal under federal law, so crossing a border can turn a legal purchase into a federal offense. What you buy at One Green Leaf should stay in New Jersey.
What ID do I need, and do I need a medical card?
You need to be 21 or older with a valid government-issued photo ID. No medical card is required. One Green Leaf is a licensed adult-use dispensary. The same ID check applies to all four ways to buy: in store, reserve-ahead pickup, the drive-thru window, and same-day delivery.
How should I store cannabis at home?
Keep products in their original sealed packaging, stored up high or locked, out of sight and reach of children and pets. Never move product into an unlabeled container or a snack cabinet, since edibles can look like ordinary food. If a child or pet gets into a product, call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 or a veterinarian immediately.
Can I share what I buy with a friend who is 20?
No. Never give, sell, or share cannabis with anyone under 21, including family members and including at home. Only people 21 and older with valid photo ID may buy adult-use cannabis in New Jersey. That applies to delivery as well, since the person receiving the order has to be 21 or older with valid photo ID.
Where can I verify One Green Leaf's state license?
One Green Leaf LLC holds New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission license RE000846, an Annual Class 5 Cannabis Retailer permit valid through May 14, 2027. You can look up permit holders and read the state's adult-use rules at nj.gov/cannabis. Our address is 95 N Lakeview Dr, Gibbsboro, NJ 08026.
